Then we got a fast pass for Space Mountain between 10:10 and 11:10pm to use later.

We went home after that and my mom made steak.

After dinner we headed back to Disneyland, hoping to catch the fireworks.

We got to the parking structure right as the fireworks were starting. So we just stopped and watched the fireworks from there.

We decided to try recording them with our iPhones.

Once we got back into the park we headed straight for Space Mountain to use the fast passes we’d gotten earlier.

Somehow, Jerrod had never been on the Matterhorn, so we went on that next.

With only a few minutes left, we hit Pirates of the Caribbean and still managed to get a last minute Dole pineapple whip.

In the character department, especially when it’s crowded, my first priority was always for my characters’ safety. There were guests that yelled at me because the line for Pooh was closed for the night, even after I explained that they would be out walking around again in 15 minutes.
But then there were days like this one. I was working at the Pooh Corner location, standing up by Pooh when a small girl and her mom came up. The girl was afraid to go up to pooh, one of those ones where she wanted to go up to him, but was afraid. Her mom went up to him first which often helps but she was still aprehensive. I asked if she wanted me to go with her. She nodded and we went a few steps before she stopped again. “Don’t you want to see pooh?” I asked her. She looked longingly up at him, like she almost thought she could, but then she gave a sigh and shook her head. “Okay,” her mother said. “Maybe next time.” And they started to walk away, but then the little girl turned around and ran back and hugged me instead.

I checked it out, and I can see my house. there were two versions; one from 70-something, and another from 1995. I was a little sad that I couldn’t zoom in anymore, though. If I go a little to the left, I can see the elementary school I attended.

I wanted to find something bigger I knew to look at, so I looked for my church… unfortunately I don’t know the street address, and had trouble finding it just with the street name. So I found Disneyland. It was a ’95 photo, and the first view was pretty far away, but I could recognize it right away. I was able to recognize the Hub, the river, space mountain, the carousel, and even backstage landmarks like main issue cast costuming.

This is 1995 so we’re… post-splash mountain… post-toontown… I think pre- Indiana Jones, and pre-new tomorrowland.
basically we’re talking late disney afternoon Disneyland. Easily recognized are The Hub, The River, the carousel for Fantasyland, and main street. and my personal favorite, Space Mountain.
